It's Friday -- Let's Get Out of Here

Random Friday Morning Thoughts

This was in Michigan.  The shooter was even handcuffed during the incident.

  • He is a long time felony prosecutor. Kind of feel sorry for the guy. Story
  • Two notable stories on the front page of the Star-Telegram

    • Here's the book-in photo for the DNA/Strangulation case.

  • Azle murder: "Inside the home [on Tuesday], they found the two women dead from apparent gunshot wounds . . . .  The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the women as 83-year-old Teresa Howe and 59-year-old Traci Gordon, according to online records." The suspect is Joseph Gordon, 64.

  • I was expecting to be on red alert after Trump's speech last night, but it was the biggest nothing burger I've ever seen. He stuck to the script and the script wasn't very good.   He's still going to try and steal the mid-terms, but this speech didn't give us a hint of his specific plan.

  • Corruption via social media

  • Corruption by teleprompter and betting

  • The spoils of corruption.

  • After the killing of a man in Houston by ICE, the FBI sought a search warrant for what they claimed was meth sitting on the dash of the van. (I've never seen that before.)  After the search, the feds are now suddenly silent as to what they found.  So what was it? Most likely "granulated salt, which is paired with lemon and water as a homemade electrolyte mix used by outdoor workers in extreme Texas heat."

  • The presumptive DA for Dallas County was cleared after being sanctioned by the Texas Judicial Commission.

  • Tech has a new stadium name.

  • Lauren Whitener Clock: 7 years and 12 days

Random Thursday Morning Thoughts

The memorial service for the five Dallas police officers killed the week before brought President Obama and VP Biden to town. And gave us a photo of both Air Force One and Air Force Two at Love Field.

  • The arrest occurred in Colleyville.

  • Gift link from Star-Telegram story.

  • That's a really small pond in the middle of a housing division. Story

  • Happening now: "A 'large and deadly flood wave' is threatening Texas Hill Country, the same area of last year's deadly Camp Mystic flooding."

  • Oh, my. Financial disclosure forms for candidates were due yesterday, and the one from Ken Paxton was notable. The money guy for Texas Tech greased Paxton's palm and then Paxton, the very next next day, came to the defense of Tech in their quarterback scandal by threatening to sue the Big 12.

  • We've heard about all of this before, but now official indictments have been handed down. I'm not sure this is as big of deal as the media makes it out to be.

  • He announced in a video message that he wants a “High-T Department of War.”  This is so cringe.

  • Man, wait until everyone finds out that opposing data centers makes you a Dirty Lib! Trump posted about it last night (where he mentioned Texas) and Sean Hannity focused on it last night.

  • It may come down to John Cornyn as to whether this guy is confirmed.

  • Let's check in on Fox News. International evangelist and Christian college founder Tommie Zito appeared on Fox and Friends First this morning to claim people in Vermont "don't know the Lord." And he's going to fix it.

  • Messenger - Above the Fold

Random Wednesday Morning Thoughts

Terrorist attack in Nice, France.

  • Ken Paxton is back from vacationing with his girlfriend in Europe and campaigning in Texas last night to tell us about faith and family.
  • There is some wild rain going on at the bottom of the Texas Hill Country. And more is on the way.

  • It still needs to pass the Senate:

  • Yesterday in the news about ICE making our streets killing zones

    • This morning: The "pause" is already over.  The killing will resume, apparently.

  • Speaking of something changing overnight: No more 20% toll.

  • The Memorandum of Understanding failed to mention this was going to happen.

  • Get ready.  He will announce how he intends to steal the mid-terms. It's over.

  • The Whitehouse tells you how to be a patriot.

  • At least his momma loves him.

  • If you want to see what an Order looks like transferring over $5 million of Trump's money from the court's registry to someone he assaulted and defamed, here ya go:

  • At this moment, Todd Blanche is in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee in his attempt to become Attorney General.
